The Global Citizen Research Group (GCRG)

Understanding of a Global Culture

OUR HISTORY

The Global Citizen research group was founded within the Department of International Business, under the Intercultural Management academic division. The Intercultural Communication courses, along with joint activities with Japanese students led by Professor Juan Carlos Diaz Vasquez, laid the groundwork for the creation of a research group dedicated to exploring issues of communication, culture, and global citizenship in international contexts. In the second semester of 2021, at the end of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Global Citizen research group was founded with students from different academic programs and at various levels of study. The research group provides spaces for multilingual communication where current topics are discussed in languages other than English and Spanish. Since then, the group has devised and participated in programs that demonstrate different forms of communication and has shared its mission and passion with the university’s educational community.

In a World...

where the prolongation of wars continues to devastate lives, civilians are those who pay the highest price. Entire communities are being displaced, families torn apart, and the loss of life reaches numbers that can never be justified.

As Global Citizens, we cannot remain silent. We have raised our voices before, and we will continue to do so, firmly rejecting every form of violence and demanding compliance with international humanitarian law.

This Manifesto is not only our statement but also our ethical compass, a reflection of the values that guide us: respect for life, peace, solidarity, and the unwavering belief that dialogue and mutual understanding are the only paths forward.
